This is rooftop level from the New Orleans French Quarter. The Central Business District looks miles away and also superimposed. But it is really there: all shining and definitely walking distance (Oh how I love the walkability of this city). This is the 5th story of a three-hundred year old house. There is only an attic room on this floor. I imagine the occupants throughout the centuries looking out on their neighbors. This land has been settled since the 4th century, so before this, there must have been something else.
