At the end of this road, I came to a lake that was all frozen over. I sat on a rock and meditated until a man appeared in the distance. He walked across the ice, and I was afraid it would break and that he would fall through. So I held my breath until he turned into a Red-breasted blackbird and flew away.

Along this road we saw a family of moose. Two big ones. Two little. They wore their winter coats all shaggy and dirty from the melting snow. We were right up on them before they leaped into the forest for cover. They did not run away, though. They stood and stared at us from the forest as we drove by, our mouths wide with surprise.
