Mr. Joe is a whole project

(transmedia storytelling): from meeting him came photographs, films, stories, mix media, installation and relationships

Mr. Joe is 98 years old at the time of this writing. We met him through a family member. He first appeared in a photo-essay. This essay doesn’t get all of its facts straight. It is a blending of stories. Mr. Joe plays a fictionalized version of himself.
, then in our short film “Destiny lives Down the Road,” where he played a fictionalized version of himself. This documentary portrait of Mr. Joe takes us through him looking after his wife, Dussy, who has advanced stage Alzheimer’s, her death, and his life without her. Mr. Joe was also a main character in Chalmatia: a fictional place down the road.
