sIntros Franz Kirmann:
a long time elektrik zoo collaborator;
his music inspires us.
We have known him
for a very long time.

The Kirmann Project
sWordss Kirmann performs in the clubs and bars of Europe. Being such a nice, nice Frenchman, he wanted to make a multi-media experience for his audience, so he asked us to do back projections that he could screen during his performances. What you will see below is a sample of that work.

"
It is hard for me to explain this creative process.

I don't quite understand it yet myself.

Sometimes we just sort of feel our way."

sWordss Why a wasteland?

These tracks are certainly melancholic and lonely and sometimes post-apocolyptic, and so is the landscape of certain parts of Chalmette, Down the Road, and the Bywater where we filmed these pieces. Not all of the GNO looks like this. In fact, because of THE GREAT RECOVERY, it is becomming increasingly more difficult to find these locations. The location below was bulldozed over after "The Colony" was filmed here. Of course, we shot here first when we did "Little Baby Eyes" (also for Kirmann). We are usually the trendsetters, but we don't get any money or fame off it, so I'm not sure what the point is of being a trendsetter.

sWordss Why children?

The children are my sister's kids and their friends. Due to our professional training at the LFS, we are always in the habit of economical filmmaking: we use what we have around us.

sWordss Why masks?
Fairy wings?
Hoola-hoops?

The trappings of childhood
juxtaposed against
a
post
apocylptic
landscape:
I feel something
dark and lonely
in my heart.
