by the LA
Green
Corps,
this
series of short documentary portraits was shot and post-produced over a
ten-day period and in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees. The goal was
to document Corps members' particiaption in the program and to explore
their new found relationship with green living. The LA Green Corps is a "green" job skills training program for 17-24 year old youth living in the Greater New Orleans Area. Their mission is to involve youth in enviromentally focused service learning projects while teaching valuable 21st century job skills. The LA Green Corps utilizes an innovative training method in which Corps members gain a sense of ownership and pride for their work while planning and implementing service projects that benefit the environment and the community. The Elektrik Zoo would like to thank LA Green Corps Members, Krewe Leaders and Program Managers and the Alliance for Affordable Energy for assisting us in the making of this project. |
